Compensation Issues, Double XP Weekend Sept. 30
Posted September 23, 2011 | 07:59PM UTC (236 Days ago)
By: CapoDeiCapi
Hey guys,
As most of you probably know, we've had a few issues with the compensation package for user who had issues logging into CrimeCraft following the Steam promotion. By now, most effected users should have their Gold Bars. We are still working on the script to provide characters with their in-game cash, but that is a much more involved issue since it takes place at the character level and not the account level. Don't worry, you will receive your cash, it's just taking more time than we hoped or would have liked.
To make up for it, at least a little bit, we'll be doing another Double XP/Double Cash Weekend starting with the Friday, Sept. 30 maintenance and ending with the Monday, Oct. 3 maintenance.
If you're pushing to the level cap or looking to fill your pockets, this will be another great opportunity to reach those goals!

The Regulator Review - September 23, 2011

Hello and welcome to the weekly GM blog, which we have affectionately named The Regulator Review! Just a quick reminder:
1. Please stay on topic regarding the current subject! Any off-topic post(s) will be deleted without warning.
2. Be respectful towards others! The Rules of Conduct (http://www.crimecraft.com/rules_of_conduct) policy still applies here. Flaming, trolling, and any inappropriate conduct in general will not be tolerated.
3. Let’s keep the discussion constructive and civil. Even if your feedback is positive or negative, constructive criticism provides more insight from your viewpoint based on your first-hand experience and opinion, and it helps better assist us to improve the game you all love to play. A typical rant or “QQ” post does nothing to help assist us in improving the game and only deteriorates the integrity of these forums for all to enjoy.
Without further ado, let's jump in to this week's blog.
Compensation
Lately, we have begun the process to issue the compensation regarding the recent issues we’ve experienced during the Steam promotional period. If you’ve been living under a rock, be sure to read the recent announcement regarding the compensation package at the following link here: www.crimecraft.com/forums/News-and-Alerts/topics/compensation-19831
Keep in mind to only submit a compensation ticket if you’re eligible. Lately, we’ve been receiving tickets requesting compensation, but these accounts were created in the month of September and not the required dates of August or prior as stated in the compensation announcement post.
Report Cheater tickets
We want to thank you for your effort in assisting us in combating the underground world of “cheaters” here in Sunrise City. Your efforts here are most graceful, but there are some minor issues we want to bring up as it’s starting to flood our ticketing system with unnecessary reports and will cause more harm than good in assisting us.
1) With the introduction of new realms and characters copied from the “Exeter /Euricho” realms over to the new EU realms, we ask that extra time be taken to name the realm the suspect (and yourself) was on during the time of the incident. This is taking a lot of our time in order to process these reports, so we need your help to take the time and add the name of the realm in the “BODY” page of the ticket.
2) Please avoid using the “Report Cheater” system for non-cheating issues. We’re not going to call in the troops over minor disputes, or because you can’t get along with another player. If you don’t wish to be contacted by this player, be sure to use the “Blacklist” feature in the game to block further commination. Only if the user finds other means to continue harassment, that you create a ticket and inform us. Be sure to leave the name of the realm, the date which the incident occurred, and provide a screenshot of the chat messages. For flamers, spammers, racial remarks; be sure to let us know which realm the incident occurred and provide us a screenshot of the remarks in chat.
3) Duplicate tickets – During the tournaments, the volume for cheat tickets increases and it’s usually the same suspects being reported by the same players accusing them… continuously. We want to inform you that this is unnecessary. Please only report the suspect once; not every week, day, or every hour. We don’t need one person or more to flood our ticketing system regularly regarding the same suspect. This doesn’t speed up action against the suspect we mind you, but this will only cause more problems were different GMs on shift will process the report as a new investigation. This only causes a mess for us to clean up all these tickets, and also takes time away from us to process other tickets currently open in our ticketing system. So please, don’t spam our ticketing system regularly regarding the same player. Provide some time to past by, about 2 weeks or a month before submitting again. While some forms of cheating is really obvious, most are not, and it takes a suitable amount of time to verify the report. And no, we won’t ban someone because you demand it or else. All reports are thoroughly reviewed during our investigation. If evidence is found to confirm the report, then action will be placed and that suspect and all their accounts will be closed. By no means will we proceed with an account action just because a report says so. Not now, not ever!
4) Full reports – Leaving short descriptions like “cheater” in the message body does nothing to assist us. We need more clarification on the type of cheat used. If you really want to see cheaters removed quickly, please take the time to submit a full report with as much detail as possible. If not, we have to conduct our investigation the hard way, without much intelligence on the suspect. And usually, these cases turn up cold due to the lack of detailed information. If you’re not sure on what the cheat is or type, don’t worry. Just describe it and will take it from here. Also, verify first before submitting. For example, just because Lil’Timmy pwn you with his pea shooter, doesn’t mean he’s using an Aimbot hack. This is a shooter game and defeat can cause frustration and confusion. Be sure to not jump the gun in anger and report the person to get even. This only floods our ticketing system with inaccurate reports; and more importantly, it wastes our time when processing it when it can be well spent on reports that are more legit.
Another new Regulator
We've got another new addition to The Regulators, he goes by the name of TheDeafMute. Please give him a warm, Sunrise City welcome (filled with bullets)!
New Tournament schedule
We want to gauge the reaction from the community about the setup of the new Tournament schedule. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it better than the previous system? I have seen a few people suggest that it should be the same match type all week, and alternate between 3 different maps each map. We welcome your feedback to continue to refine the tournament schedule in order to provide the best possible experience.
That will bring this week's Review to a close. Until next week, Sunrise City....
Happy Hour is an event that lasts for an hour in which we do the following:
- Massive discounts in the Black Market (NOTE: Discounts will be global to all realms during Happy Hour, but we will only be running the in-game events on the designated realms at the designated times)
- Constant GM events with custom modifiers (Double XP, Cash, Loot, Bonus loot, Friendly Fire, etc.) across a wide range of Star ratings
- Cash Bags spawned in every GM event worth 100 Gold Bars (not redeemable for real money)
NEW RULE FOR CASH BAGS: Anyone who ditches a match immediately after the Cash Bag is won will be added to a list and will no longer be eligible to win Cash Bags for the rest of that day's Happy Hour. If you win the Cash Bag then ditch, not only will you be ineligible for the rest of the Cash Bags but you will forfeit the one that you won.
Gold Bars will be sent out after Happy Hour is over and can take a little bit of time, so be patient.
US realms - Tuesday, September 27:
- Exeter: 1:00 PM PST - 2:00 PM PST (8:00 PM Server to 9:00 PM Server)
- Euricho: 3:00 PM PST - 4:00 PM PST (10:00 PM Server to 11:00 PM Server)
EU realms - Thursday, September 29:
- Raskolnikov: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Server time
- Cabrese: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM Server time
We welcome everyone to submit suggestions for what items you'd like to see on discount during Happy Hour.

The Tournament map for next week will be Old Sunrise City Hall. The 3 possible match types will be:
- Snatch&Grab
- Capture the Zone
- Robbery
Enjoy!
Hey everyone,
Yesterday, we sent out the gold bar component of the compensation package that was originally announced here:
www.crimecraft.com/forums/News-and-Alerts/topics/a-message-from-the-vp-of-development-19010
An email was sent out to notify those that received the Gold Bars, however the email mistakenly said 200 Gold Bars instead of 100. We will be sending out a correction email to clarify this matter. As we mentioned in the email, we are still working on the in-game cash component of this compensation package and it will take us some time to prepare this due to technical issues.
I wanted to clarify who this compensation package was intended for as well. This compensation was intended for any and all of our players who experienced issues logging into and playing the game as a result of our lack of preparation for the increase in player population after our recent Steam promotion. We ran a script to send out the Gold Bars en masse to most of the players who were affected by this, however due to technical issues the following accounts were not sent Gold Bars through the script:
- Any account that was registered before the start of the Steam promotion AND was completely unable to log into the game between the start of the promotion and when we implemented the queue system
If you meet the above criteria and did not receive 100 Gold Bars from us, then please submit a ticket with the subject "Gold Bar Compensation" and we will provide you with the Gold Bars if we find that you are eligible. You can submit a ticket by going to: www.crimecraft.com/cs_tickets.

Happy Hour
The long-awaited return of Happy Hour happened this past week, as most of you probably saw. Going forward, it is likely that Happy Hour will be moving to a set schedule. We would like the feedback of the community on when you feel is the best time for Happy Hour. A few things to keep in mind:
- In general, we try to schedule Happy Hour so that it won't conflict with daily tournaments
- We have more GM resources during the weekdays, so Happy Hour will need to be on weekdays
- We don't want to run Happy Hour in both regions (US/EU) on the same day
- We can't run the in-game events of Happy Hour on more than one realm at a time
- Exeter/Euricho Happy Hours should be on the same day (although not at the same time, while Raskolnikov/Cabrese Happy Hours should be on a different day (again, not at the same time as eachother)
Using the above guidelines, please share your thoughts on when is the best time to schedule Happy Hours. Also, we always welcome more feedback on what kinds of items we should put on discount during Happy Hours.
Tournaments
Starting next week, on September 19 to be exact, the tournament schedule will be changed significantly. Currently, we change tournament match types every 2 weeks with tournament maps changing every week. Starting Sept, 19, each week the tournament will happen on one map - but there will be 3 different possible game types. The game type will be randomly chosen from the 3 possible choices for each tournament match. We believe this will add much-welcome variety to tournaments while keeping the experience fresh on a daily basis. The following is the tournament schedule for next week, Sept, 19 to Sept. 25:
Possible match types: ACD, Robbery, Shootout
Map: Othello Skybridge
As always, we welcome your feedback and look forward to the response to this change.
That will conclude this week's Review. Until next week, Sunrise.
