Today's Patch

Starting with today’s patch, you’re going to notice a number of changes to the PvP UI and game play. The first feature you will probably notice are a number of symbols displayed under the column Difficulty when you select a battle from the PvP UI window.

 

These symbols represent server strength relative to your PvP ranking.

  • Red arrows that point up indicate that the match has players who are stronger than you. More arrows indicate stronger players.
  • A green circle indicates a battle with players near your own ranking.
  • Yellow arrows pointing down indicate a battle with players who rank below you in PvP.

We encourage players to compete at their skill level when possible, but since that won’t always be possible and because we want new players to have a better early experience (we were all n00bs once, and we need more n00bs!) we’re also rolling out a weighted handicapping system.

 

You’ll see a message when you’re fighting lower-ranking players informing you of a handicap that can range from 10-30 percent depending on the rank disparity. This is going to bring skill back to the forefront while still ensuring that players get the benefits of gear they worked hard to acquire.

 

As always, player feedback is very important to us. Please report any issues you encounter through the ticketing system so we can continue to fine tune the system.
