I'm rather new and I must say I'm really digging crimecraft so far :)

But one thing puzzles me: I had ammo upgrades in the respective slots under all of my equipped guns. but all of a sudden they were gone.

I guess they were used up. But how and why? I see there is numbers on ammo mod icons (e.g. 4, 10 or 24), what do they mean?

You use one up every mission that you play. Ammo upgrades and combat AUGs should have counters to show how many you have. Buffs (F4/F5) are also consumables. I have not checked to see if I don't use one if I don't use that gun in a mission, but I suspect that is the case since I'm always buying more AR ammo, more so than my other weapon ammo.

Also, when you repair weapons and armor through vendors their max durability will drop as well. If you play enough, you will have to keep replacing all your gear. Don't repair things frequently, let them get below 60% damaged before repairing.

I am pretty conservative with ammo, been just bringing a SR with expensive green ammo. Ammo is kinda rare on the AH, i tend to buy up any cheap ammo especially SR that I use and AR that's popular, in particular greens and blues underpriced, then I overprice them hard when ammo is low (often) and i think people go thru ammo more than tailored clothes etc...heck i bet those lying hackers told everyone to pick tailoring to make the other professions good, and i think the lack of chemists and avg. price of chemistry mats means that's the good profession 'right now' based on 'pvp averages' in 'real time' from humans that may or may not 'read this post'.

Yet a lotta people claim it's gear, that's a bull[filtered] hackin cover story, there's a ton of hackers yet if you play clean and watch forwared directions, you learn skills (anyone with nonhacking skills wanna play me 1v1 and we both fraps / record it and then share tapes and comment/annotate to teach ppl how to pvp? Real ninjas only plz ;p msg me in game if you want too or via email, youtube, etc, i'm the only aer six bee nine, named me that on hotmail in 95 after the radio was callin me aerial unit six for a while, or air six for short, or just six if it mattered.
