The slot underneath your gun is for ammo. For every single 1 of ammo you have, you can play a match with the benefits of that ammo. If there is no ammo in that slot, your gun still has bullets when you hop into game. You simply don't have the added effect of the ammo booster.
Armour is worn like you would wear armour in WoW. There are different stats for each different piece of armour. Armor is durable for any amount of matches. You do have to repair it though, and when you do it breaks down the "durability" of an item. You can only patch a pair of jeans so many times until you have just patches.
And finally, engineers make modifications (stocks, lasers, sight, etc) for guns, as well as ammo for guns.

I'm going to add onto what Rekas said.
What ammo does is add damage, number of bullets in one clip, and the amount of mags you can have.
Lets take my favorite ammo as an example, the TripleS Drac9 GL (Level 30 Blue Grenade Launcher Ammo).
It adds 14 damage and 8 rounds (everything else is standard). So that means without the ammo, I am doing 14 points less damage and only firing 5 rounds before I have to reload. Highly useful stuff, ammo.
Armor, as Rekas said, has different stats depending on the level, quality (white titles being low and basic, green being mid-quality, and blue being the best), and whether or not it is part of a set (clothing items that go together and when together give extra boosts).
Some armors have high splash resistance, some give a splash radius modifier, some give a body shot damage modifier, etc. It's very important to have the best that you can to stay alive longer.
Here is a short explanation of the professions:
Gunsmiths craft AUGs (which boost different things depending on whether or not it is a Lobby AUG [only affecting your experience in the lobby] or a Combat AUG [affects you only during combat]), weapons, and modifier kits which change the appearance of your gun (paint).
Engineers craft attachments for guns as well as ammo. Attachments increase the amount of damage you do per shot, recoil reduction, range, and accuracy. All are very important to have.
Tailors make clothing, and Chemists make drugs, and depending on the type, can heal, increase damage given, increase defense, make you more accurate, or add to your stamina. There are also negative effects that come with most of the drugs, such as causing you to do less damage, losing accuracy, losing stamina, etc.
Good drugs are crucial. You can equip and use two at a time, provided that they are not of the same family of drug (ie. cannot use two bolsters at once) and can stack.
Good luck in the game!
Edit: Also, most items can be found in containers.

thanks for the info.
I think i will go for chemist or engineer then, both look exciting :)
But both of you skipped the male <-> female part, what is with that? Do females really have an advantage and should I run around in a game like a slut all the time? When I rather just play a male character
Because I read that there are much more female clothes, and male clothes are rare, so much more expensive. And I also read that girls have smaller hitboxes, run faster, have a larger knife etc etc

There is definitely an advantage to being female, with the above points that you said that you had heard, as well as the differences in combat. I'm not sure which are true, but it seems to be that females are more aerodynamic. There are a couple of threads on this topic.
As for appearances.. Well, I don't believe the female clothing to be slutty, and you can always get gold pars and buy premium clothing (which will take on the stats of your worn clothes, so you would have to buy them every time you enter a new level range). You CAN get gold bars for free by completing offers on the website, though I would avoid any ones that require you to download and install something, as it's usually infected with malware.

Can you elaborate that part a bit more? Or link me to the offers / a site with more info about it? I have never heard this before
And for the chemist <=> engineer crafting skill, what would you recommend?
Chemists make potions that are good, but not required, I see them as an extra.
Engineers make bullets and other stuff that is basically required and you can't play without it. So I think I'll go for an engineer, good choice?
*In the PvE maps, is it possible to kill all enemies? Or do they respawn after 10-20 seconds if you have killed them? Because looking at youtube, there are always enemies left and I never see an empty map.
**If an enemy uses camouflage, are they completely invisible? Or you can you still see/hear them? Because sometimes if the "youtube-player" sees an enemy using the camouflage skill, then a couple of seconds later he still killed him, while he was invisible. Am I missing something due to the low quality of youtube?

The page where you can complete offers to get gold bars is here: http://www.crimecraft.com/earn_gold_bars
Basically, you have to complete surveys, download software, enter personal informations, etc.
Engineers don't make bullets, per se, but ammo magazines. The bullets you will always have no matter what profession you choose, and are free.
Chemists make drugs that are very crucial to getting the upper hand in a battle. You will come to find that they are necessary. Some increase your resistances so that you take less damage in battle, others increase your damage given, making you kill enemies easier.
* Enemies do respawn, but it is longer than 20 seconds, perhaps after a full minute.
** This is because enemies using invisibility are not truly invisible. You will see a glimmer and distortion in the area that the enemy is in alerting you of their presence. You will also not be able to go through an invisible enemy.

Hi,
Can someone explain to me how the ammo system works. You buy a gun and have to pay for each bullet you fire? Or you just buy ammo once and get xx bullets each round and you can find new ammo in maps? or loot it from enemies you kill?
And how do armours work? they are temporarily, or have xx durability and when they run out you have to repair them? If so, is it hard to gain enough gold to keep paying for the armour, weapons and bullets?
And lastly, about the crafting system. You can become a gunsmith and make weapons, a chemist and make potions??? (can someone elaborate this a bit please), a tailor and make armour/clothes (i ve heard 90% of it is female clothes, and its best to make a female character....) or you could become an engineer and make .... ?
(sorry for the "dumb" questions, but my computer was broken and is being fixed now, so I havent been able to play yet :( but i have seen many videos on youtube, and it looks like a good game?
