when you hit lv 50 and lv250 crafting, buy EVERY SINGLE recipe available to you. its costly, but what this will do is unlock the reseach feature, allowing you to get a new recipe every 10 hours for only 1k a pop. No one explained this to me at all, and only found out when someone said something about it and i thought he was trolling.

3 reason why they never tell.
1) They don't know about it.
2) They don't care if you knew about it.
3) They are too lazy to explain it.
Well, I am the 3rd option.

4) Less competition on the auction house. <--this is why i tell people, this reason hurts the economy.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I checked earlier and my original post should have said "200" lol. Didn't realize that the final upgrade is lvl 50 and 200 crafting skill but thanks for letting me know the crafting cap is 250.

So a couple days ago, I finally hit 250 Gunsmithing and bought every recipe (have been since I even started the profession). How do I get the research feature? Every time I visit the Gunsmith trainer in Downtown, it goes straight to the "Progress" tab and when I switch to buying recipes, he has nothing :(

When you have bought every recipe available to you, another option should appear in the crafting trainer's window. It'll be on the menu bar directly to the right of the normal window icon and will appear as three cogs.
Another thing you may not know about are Byproducts. Crafting certain items gives you a chance to receive another as a byproduct. I'm not sure if they still exist for chemistry and gunsmithing since those professions were revamped, but it's confirmed to work with Engineering.
I've been bugging a few players who spent considerable time crafting for a list, but they haven't gotten on since they said they'd send it to me. :P

Hi all, having a hard time finding info for some crafting questions. Before any flames come out, yes I did try using the search function but I guess I might be using the wrong key words in my search.
1) Is the maximum crafting skill 250 or does it go higher at level 50? (i.e. What's the highest crafting skill value?)
2) If 250 is the max, what do you get out of getting your final training from your skill trainer? It requires level 50 and a crafting skill of 250 and to my knowledge level 50 is the cap level for now right?
