Wes Mailman | Producer

"I don't have to take this abuse from you, I've got hundreds of people dying to abuse me."  -  Dr. Peter Venkman, Ghostbusters (1984)

Where are you from?
I was born in Florida, but mostly grew up in New York and consider myself very much a New Yorker.

What do you do on CrimeCraft?
Currently my role is Producer. My job is to make sure CrimeCraft goes out with as few bugs as possible. In order to best achieve that goal my responsibilities consist of developing and managing various aspects of Quality Assurance. We have many groups and people assisting us with our QA efforts and it's my job to manage and cultivate those groups. Now that we are in Closed Beta my main focus will be to assist and act as a conduit between the CB community and the developers.

What other titles have you worked on?
In my QA Acclaim days I worked on many titles including the NFL Quarterback Football Club and All-Star Baseball series, NBA Jam, Jeremy McGrath Motorcross, Re-Volt, Trickstyle, FurFighters, South Park: Chef's Luv Shack, and South Park Rally. As designer and lead designer I've worked on All-Star Baseball '02-'05, as well as mobile titles AND1 Basketball, Reggie Bush Pro Football, Hip Hop Immortals, G-Unit: Racing, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, Notorious B.I.G. Street Dice, and Zenerchi.

How did you get involved in your game industry role?
I always enjoyed playing games growing up as I was part of the Atari/Commodore 64 generation, but in my wildest dreams I never imagined I could make a living making games.

Due to a twist of fate, I got my start back in '98 as a QA tester for Acclaim. Fortunately, I was able to prove myself and was afforded an opportunity to join the All-Star Baseball team as a designer in Austin, TX. Once Acclaim saw better days I moved onto project manager positions with two mobile game companies, Gameloft and Vindigo.

When this chance with Vogster Entertainment came along it was very exciting for me as it provided a great opportunity to work on a great game and alongside an equally impressive staff.

What's your favorite game?

Besides CrimeCraft, it would have to be Counterstrike and almost any WW II 1st person shooter.

Currently, I'm a big fan of the Rock Band series as it's the one game my wife will play and my son will dance along to.

What kind of music do you listen to?
There is no music genre I won't listen to, good music is good music. But, when I'm feeling down The Beatles, U2, and Bruce Springsteen are the first ones I reach for.

What do you do for fun?
Spending time with my family. My two year old son always finds a way to put my life in perspective.

Running has very much become a passion of mine lately as it's been a great stress reliever and refocuses me.

Of course, there is always rooting for my beloved Mets, Dolphins, and NY Rangers!
