Vogster's CrimeCraft and K2's Parabellum take the character customization and social aspects of an MMO, and apply them to third- and first-person shooters, respectively. They're hoping to make their money off of microtransactions, with the idea that enough of their players will want a "Hello Kitty sniper rifle," to quote one of the developers who I hope was kidding, to pay for the game itself.

I’ve grown tired of the “class X is overpowered” arguments that flood the forums of every MMO (I know, I know, not an MMO), so the notion of skill-based duels is right up my alley. As a longtime fan of the film The Warriors, I love the idea of making a uniform for my gang. I’ll be staying in tough with Vogster, so hopefully you can look forward to a preview in the near future.

Peter "Nextweek" Eykemans at Voodoo Extreme 3D ties in lore with his hands-on overview of the game. He also makes mention of the jumping ability, or lack there of:
You can't jump, which sounds strange, but your dodging abilities come in the form of a quick 180 degree turn and rolls to the side, front and back. The Club did the same thing, and it works. In PvP, it's generally going to be an 8 vs. 8 situation, while PvE instances can include up to 200 enemies.
