Myron Funt “owns” the pawnshops of Sunrise City, the way he owns a lot of different things. A librarian and collector of 14th century relics, Myron came to Sunrise City several decades ago as an ambassador of the powerful British syndicate, The Two-Five. It was during these early years that he quickly rose through the ranks, establishing a thriving branch of the centuries-old organization in Sunrise. However, his quick rise was halted rather quickly, as he found himself serving time in the Sunrise City Correctional Facility for 20 years due to a series of inconclusive events the police labeled "Attempted Homicide."
The reality of the situation is that Myron had been dealing with stolen relics and artifacts from around the world, establishing a network of black markets and pawnshops that accumulated millions of dollars. However, one of his associates, Steven Carrington, who was at the time the Treasurer of Sunrise City, shared Myron’s penchant for the ancient goods and began helping himself. By the time Myron discovered the theft, Carrington had made off with nearly $3 million in Tolmec and Egyptian artifacts. Those “inconclusive events” were just Myron’s way of getting back what was taken from him.
In the ensuing decades, Myron managed to continue to grow the Two-Five through a network of allies and friends in the city government. When the collapse came, and the Municipality enlisted the most powerful gangs in the city to aid in its defense, Myron’s right-hand man, Louis Ockley, conditioned the Two-Five’s participation on Myron’s release from prison.
After he was released, Myron decided to stay in Sunrise City, where he has begun to emerge as the de facto leader of the worldwide Two-Five organization. Through it all, however, he has always retained his fondness for priceless antiquities, which involves him in the daily affairs of the pawn brokers and black marketers who can be found around the city.
