Hi, I just started recently playing this game, and i absolutely love it.  However, one odd thing occurred... twice now.  It seems to run fine except for a little bit of lag, but what really happens is when the two incidents occurred, I was in the lobby.   Im looking around, looking at the screen when suddenly my monitor just..... goes off.  Its like a crash, and it seems my computer is still running in the background, but its not showing anything nor am I hearing anything.  If its a crash, its certainly a wierd one.  It's not the monitor because this is the only time this happens.  Any ideas?

Sounds to be graphics card related. Maybe it's a driver issue, or it is overheating. You can try updating your drivers and see if it happens again, if it does, use a tool that monitors gpu temps and see if thats the issue.

Thanks for the heads up.  Im not exactly what you would call ' Tech Savvy ' but i do my best.  I DLed a program to show the GPU temp.  I have a Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT, and idling is at 70 degrees Celsius.  I started up the game, put it in windowed mode, and saw it jump up to 80 Degrees.  And thats just the main/log in screen.  I exited, and it dropped down.  Now... after reading and googling specs, i got mixed answers about what is hot and what is not.   Is 80 degrees Celsius a cause for concern; even 70 degrees a cause for concern?  It has me a lil worried now, so im asking.

With that in mind, would lowering the graphic settings of the game help it out a bit?   Thanks

that card is a toasty card in general, but 80C shouldnt be of concern. I believe that card starts misbehaving around 100C and 105C is the point when permanent damage can happen. Maybe it was a fluke. Lowering the graphics settings may postpone the issue if it becomes more common tho.

u can use programs like SpeedFan, even if ur not incredibly pc literate! But my gpu rarely reaches 70C, even b4 i used to prog. Now with heavy lengthy gaming i stick around 62-63C.

I should point out I had this issue twie in the past. Once i had a faulty monitor cable, and simply tieing off the cable to prevent movement worked until i got a new monitor(i couldnt replace the cable).

Another time the contacts that connect the card to the slot flaked off(was an nvidia card) and i fixed it by adding a brace to the card pushing the card upwards. That card is still functioning on another pc. I doubt this is your issue, because a reboot after the flickering started lead me to a failed video card message from the bios(1 long beep, 2 short beeps is r2d2 speak for video card is broken :P). Maybe this will help.
