I don't know about others, but i would rather play another game than watch a red countdown reach 0 or play with someone i don't like. This "deserter penalty" is the lamest excuse for a fix i have ever seen since Combat Arms's "Elite Moderators".
Also, the RPG elements of this game sucks.

Glad to see the quitter penalty is working.

This prevents ppl from destroying games, by quitting and making them unbalanced.

Sounds more like you don't want to play against someone who could whoop your butt. Everyone here have or even occasionally play with people they don't like and they have no problem with it, so what's your problem then? If you don't like those someone cause they harass you, just report them via CS ticket or blacklist the. What's soo hard about it?

I got my first minute and a half of deserter penalty before i reached level 8 because advanced match filter was unavaiable to me (sequence of canceled matches before they started). Even so i should be able to forfeit a match without such a heavy penalty. Why is this such a big deal in THIS game but not in others? Why can't the penalty be paid in exp or money? I don't care about the RPG elements of this game (they are terrible anyway). between being forced to play a match i don't want to play anymore and not playing at all i chose not playing.

When i said "with someone you don't like" i meant teammates who are either AFK or extremely stupid.

I played APB as well as this game and they always said the same thing. I have never seen a decent matchmaking system and this one certainly isn't. (Played a few matches after the update and, in my opinion, it still sucked).

Deserter is [filtered] retarded.

I understand the logic, but it won't work.  What if I need to go?  What if my clan needs me for a daily?  What if I accidently que up and i can't do a match so I cancel?  (which btw, happens very randomly when standing in lobby.)  What if it's just a [filtered] game and I want to leave?  After like 5 of these events you basically can't play again, it's like a 10 minute wait.   That's idiotic.

I would not mind deserter penalty, but that not how system work. I dont see canceling yet another stupid maxym match or CZ on worst posible map  for that type of game as deserting match, yet i still get significant penalty on one of my char despite fact, i never left single match after it started. What make it even worse, penalty dont seem get lowered very fast...after two days of playing i got dc once, and seen penalty remained almost same.
