Since the hotfix, I've notice an absence of many themed clothing items from the BM.  I wasn't worried at first however, because my ninja outfit that I payed over 30GB for was still visible.  But now when I enter a game, it disappears, and I look like a clown.  This kind of puts a capper on how much the new BM fails.

With the negativity out of the way, I think I have a few suggestions for clothing and character appearance as they relate to the BM and loot drops.  Each clothing item should contain a "slot" like guns do that an appearance mod can fit into, just like WMKs.  These Clothing Mod Kits (let's call them CMKs) would change the appearance of the clothing item and would be permanent unless deleted from the item.

The CMKs should be themed (eg. ninja top 1 male, ninja bottom female, etc.) but all be default colours.  They should be rare post-game loot drops, and armour containers, as well as being available on the BM (perhaps make exclusive types for each one), also they should be given out as rewards for reaching certain PvP score - say you have to pick which item you want upon reaching the score, like completing a job with an item reward.

The way Vogster makes money from this however, is that all the CMKs will have ugly default colours (kind  of like how clothes do now) and users must pay GB to set up their personal colour scheme for all their clothes.  Kind of how it was like before, hmmmmmmm.

Right now, character appearance is lacking in quality and quantity.  I cannot make my outfit  gang-themed, and I see people that look like me running around all the time.  This is not very good for a persistent online game, it would be fine for a regular shooter, but users have a sense of place in CC and it's hard to express your personality without more options and customization.

One of the CMKs could be a micro-stealth device that hides the item of clothing it's a attached to for "tactical" reasons, of course. :D

I've just been playing w/o a hat lately because I think it looks better, but since my ninja clothes were, well... ninja'd, I've been using hats again.

They also made it so that the items that were removed from the black market have also been removed from the options on the dancers in clubs. Like, WTF!

Personally, I believe that there was no reason to remove the plethora of options for premium clothing customization in the black market. That was just a dumb move, and unless we have some idea of the reasoning behind it, we can't even begin to comprehend why they would remove that which gave us the ability to create a UNIQUE avatar.

Now, all items have a set color, there are few ways to make outfits 'match' and everyone who didn't buy items before the patch look like they came from the same mold. Lame.

There were a lot of cool things that came with the patch, but a lot of things happened that weren't talked about, we were given no warning. It is both a pleasant surprise (giblets) and a cause for upset (no single example). We can only give our support to those who have taken the time to post threads such as this for any changes to come about. So please, thumbs up!

I always thought game developers were taught not to hinder choice when creating a game for an MMO audience. You don't want people to get board, and especially you don't want people to feel like a gingerbread man when they are supposed to be Cool Cat Sam. And that guy is supposed to be unique in his own way, etc. etc. Especially on this subject, of customization. Pre-patch I used to color-coordinate all my guns to be the same GB camo (I didn't like the free OD camo), and colored the gun attatchments all black. Now I don'teven want tehm to be the same color because I have to rent a camo.

If Vogster wants to keep the rentable items tehy need to do two things. First, decrease the GB cost to lower than August patch prices. Next, provide a perma-purchase option, for more than the previous cost. (For example, if a clothing change was 15 gb, now its 25 gb for perma, 5 for a week, ten for two, and 20 for the whole month).

With these changes I think the cash shop can return to being a balanced environment.

vogster please give us customization and the diffrences back. I used to recognize my friends cause they allways bought the clothes and weapon / attachements in unique styles. With GB and every single time an item got replaced.
