Is Steven Segal considered the foremost martial artist in Germany? the "Flash-Dash" as you put it is more of a Japanese-specific trope alluding to the form of a traditional sword duel in feudal Japan. Because of the slashing nature of Daito and Daikatana most duels begin and end with only one action on the part of either combatant, as one succesful strike would virtually always severly injure or kill. This is in contrast with european style swordfighting which often centered around rapier and main gauche techniques that lead to a much more parry-friendly/movie-friendly style of swordfight.
Anyway, all that crap got written entirely because I'm extremely amused to see Mr. Segal used as an example of anything asian.
I played CC when NBR grenades made the bots ignore you, and boro glass made you a rich man. That- and paying attention to the vendor prices on items on the AH.

Steven Segal is infamous for his obsession into asian martial arts. He always plays the American kung fu master/samurai/ninja.

Indeed, he's even moonlighting as an honorary deputy here in the U.S.
I actually haven't seen Segal movie that I thought very much about since Under Seige 2, is there a movie where he does the 'Flash-Dash'? Seeing that would make me spit my drink all over my monitor.

actually, one thing that I thought of as a new kind of knife attack would be a roll attack. You know when you hit "Space Bar" .. if you had a different knife.. it would allow you to roll instead of jump... i dont think it should be 150 damage.. but i think it would be a nice way to OWN someone xD
OWNED!!!!!

Yea, some kind of hidden blade, like in Assassins Creed
another cool thing would be a way to defend from knife attacks, I mean, not giving an eletric shock to the attacker but blocking part of the damage aswell.

The current melee knife essentially acts identically to the way an AC style wrist blade for gameplay purposes, so that would probably just come across as a shameless ripoff rather than a keen addition.

Yes, but I was referring to the rolling attack ajajajaja mentioned. It didn't mean the character animation to be like in AC.

I know that it was just recently posted about wanting other melee weapons, but I would like to add on to it.
I would like to see melee weapons with different attributes and abilities. Just like we do the jump-knife, I think we should be able to do different things with different weapons. An example would be with a Katana, holding shift and attacking will do a flash-dash. Kind of like how many Steven Segal* movies where the camera flashes, and both people just stop, TENSION, and then the bad guy slides apart a minute later. Being longer then the knife, perhaps the katana can do less regular slash damage. I still think all melee should do 150 damage with the jump knife. A baseball bat, maybe can have a wider swing range, and different jump. HOME RUN ATTACK! It would be really cool if the baseball bat user would stand still as he swong, but make his enemy go flying. Maybe even stun some one.
I love how you can do the different jump attacks. I like the one where you use both hands to swing. I think using different animations, and different melee attacks would be really cool and fun. I also don't think it would be that much of a hassle to code and make. I am sure the developers can have fun making them, as the players will love using them.
Any way, in short it is just a simple idea that can open up a lot of new possiblities.
