I have 500 plus gold bars and I don't play the game anymore. It'd be great if I could gift my goldbars to someone. Hope they allow people to gift GBs in the future.
I used to play runes of magic, and they removed the ability to trade/gift real money curency in the game for 'legal' reason.

perfectworld, the company that publish games like neverwinter, startrek and blacklight has an in-game currency called zen. It's similar to gold bars in crimecraft, and people can freely trade or gift zen among each other.

hmm, i do not know the 'legal' reasons that feature was removed in runes of magic, but i assumed it had to do with certain regulations they deemed too much trouble.
hmm, from wikipedia:
"the easier it is to buy real goods with virtual currency (e.g. order a real life pizza) the more likely the IRS will see exclusively in-world profits as taxable."
So it seems if real money goods(ie gold bars) can be bought with virtual currency, the IRS my deem that virtual currency as taxable.

Good idea! Gift me some if they ever add it back![]()
On a serious note i think this is a great idea to add it back. Some people dont have paypal or a credit card. So it would be nice to help out a friend in need of some GB's.
Steam lets you buy games as a gift for people.
If it was removed because IRS wanting there tax i can see that. However, the GB's someone bought for another play was paid for and taxed if that is the case. So i do not see this as the reason it was removed.
The only logical reason i can think of why they removed it is because sometimes the GM gives free GB for events and they want there money from players to by GB instead if these pro player that win free GB during events handing them out to a gang mate or friend. Or possibly selling them for in game cash or real cash using paypal for an example.

Oh want to aslo add there was a game i played ( i forgot the name) off the top of my head i will add the name later. Well, this game was a real life currency game only ( no fake in game cash). They called them PED's. To get PED's you could fund your account, win them or sell items on AH. They allowed transfer or PED's from one player to another. Also you could withdraw PED's to real money to your paypal or credit card.

I against the idea of giving goldbar cause it might encourage hacking attempt.
However, it would be different cases if gifting BM item are permitted such as name change, custom clothing and etc etc.

The game was called Entropia Universe. Was a cool game. But cost a lot of money to play. It was like gambling. You have to go out on hunts and kill animals. The higher lvl you were the more a hunt would cost. You need to load up on amo. The avg was about 80%-90% return unless you got lucky and had some good drops. I got to the point were to go on an efective hunt 1hr+. It cost me 200 Ped= also $200 USD
