He means different tier scavenger tools.
Engineer st. MK 1 allows you to drop t1 ingredients from HHT, SFG, Bleedout, and PvP modes.
Engineer st. MK 2 drops T2 (Cartridge Containments, Torsion Dissipators, etc.)
Engineer st. MK 3 drops T3
Engineer st. MK 4 drops T4 and occasionally T5

You aren't going to find any Containment Cartridges in Stockpile PvE matches. You will get them from PvP matches or mission PvE matches. If you think getting Containment Cartridges is bad, wait until you have to get 150+ Ruined Attachments to advance past 85 engineering.

I can make Ruined Attachments. :) Just send me the materials (Broken Attachments, which I can also make from Fragmented Attachments) and I'll send the ruined back.
It's 5 Fragmented to make 2 Broken, 5 Broken to make 2 Ruined.

I think from memory its a tier 2 component so you need your tier 2 salvaging tool equiped.
And like a lot of salvage it may only drop from PvP, I cant recall.
Wait till you want a torsion dissipator or two :)

Hello all,
please help me understanding the "cartridge containment" item as an Engineer.
I play stockpile like mad, but the item is nowhere to be found, and its price in the auction house is ludicrous. What's the matter with this part? Is there a bug in the drop ratio? All other "ingredients" seem to drop rather fairly until now.
Sadly, the guide doesn't even mention recipe elements, etc.
