Hello all,

Complete newbie to shooters and this game here. Been playing about 4 days and so far have a Crab and Chaingunner but decided I'd like a custom character based on my specifications(which I assume the button on char screen lets you do). Noticed it costs 50 GB so I buy some but also see a little box that apparently needs something typed into it. What gets put in there? Also is there a level requirement before you can buy it?

What I need is basically step-by-step instructions in getting started. I've been through all guides and 13 pages and found no info at all about this.

While I'm at it, is the custom char the only one you can equip with weapons and clothing? I ask because when trying to equip a starter char or Crab/Chaingunner I always get Access Denied(even when I tried to equip the Crab with sunglasses which is an empty slot).

Well, I would make a guide about this as soon as my print ss work. Right now the print ss features in CC seems to be broken.

Yes, custom profiles are where u can equip weapon and clothing of your choices.

Thanks for lettting me know about equipping. Shame the print feature is broken. Could you tell me in the meantime what that box is for and what gets typed into it so I can get the custom char started?

If you are referring to the box at custom profiles, they are for AUG.

AUG provide bonus or enchances the performances of the skills you are equip.

There is 2 slot available, 1 for lobby and another for ingame pvp/pve match.

The lobby slot are for lobby aug, which provide bonus when you are in lobby. For example, if you want to earn more cash from match; using aug such as goldseeker aug would provide 10-30% more income after a single match.

As for the other slot, there is 2 types of aug available which are known as combat aug and abilities aug that you can equip into it.

Abilities aug enchances your skills performances. For example, equip yourself with PM aug would ensure your promixity mine remain at where you plant even after you are killed.

As for combat aug, some of them are permanent like lobby aug which can be equip/unequip anytime you want while some have limited usage. The combat aug enchances your fighting performances. For example, wearing an PVE aug increase the damage you did against pve in hht/stp/sfg mode.

@craft--So that's what it is. I had just ignored it and bought the character and discovered it wasn't something that was a necessary part of getting the character anyway.

Since this thread is already titled Creating A Custom Character I'll add what I've learned in an evening and hopefully it will save a bit of confusion as well for new players until a real guide is made.

Note: Profiles 2(Crab, Chaingunner, etc.)and 3(Custom Char you build yourself)will all be the same level as Profile 1 since it is the same character, only outfitted in different ways. 

Steps to creation:

1. Buy GB(Gold Bars)with real money. You'll need 50 to buy character.

2. Open Equip window with TAB. Click little button next to Profile 3. Click button to buy. Your new character  should appear.

3. Clothing--You can buy it from Auction(npc with Hammer icon over their heads)with the in-game money or buy from Black Market using GB(top middle button with shopping cart on it).

4. Buying With GB(the route I took so more info here)--You'll need to be level 10 to get started. You can buy either an Assault Pack or Rescue Pack with everything you need(weapons, complete clothing set, bullets, and medkits). You can also see what it will look like on your character by clicking the Gear Pack button then Preview button on the right.

I did see Packs for level 20 but oddly enough in the several times I opened the Black Market last night they were not there, appeared once, then disappeared again so no idea what that's about.

 5. Just as Auction you can buy weapons and modify them to your preference(Featured button)and buy separate pieces of armor(Clothing button)at levels 15 & 20. You can also buy items for the Face slot here with no level requirement.

You don't have to pay any gb to get a custom.  The tutorial made me make one(in the moat), and charged me something like $15 in-game cash to do it. 

I have two characters with custom profiles on two different servers, and have not had to spend any gb for that.

As for the packs not appearing; make sure that you have set the drop box at the top to show items of all levels.  It likes to default to items of only your level.  There are equipment packs for every 10 levels up to level 50.  The stats on the armor are the same for all the sets of each level, but each set has its own bonus.
